If we look at the table with drivers who had victories in the past in the top of the list (victories/number of starts) we find in the top Hamilton, Alonso and Kimi. Hamilton won the pole session and he have a good chance to win the first race, but for Kimi and Fernando it will be hard since they are behind. They will have to prove that can over take the drivers in front of them and after that catch Lewis who will just have to drive as fast as he can.
After the qualify I made another check in statistics. I made a table with the number of races Alonso and Kimi had to start somewhere behind position 10, and in how many o those races they won points or get the podium.
| DRIVER |
RACES |
IN POINTS |
ON PODIUM |
| Alonso |
26 |
6 |
2 |
| Kimi |
23 |
13 |
5 |
Kimi get on porium after starts behind position 10 in 2003 at Melbourne, in 2005 at Magny-Cours, Silverstone, Suzuka and in 2006 at Bahrain. Alonso in 2005 at Melbourne and Suzuka.
Looks like the situation in which they are is not bad, and in the past after a bad position at start they succeed to get on podium at Melbourne (in that races both had fastest lap). They will be on podium in this year?!
