Ferrari and Renault have both 2 seasons when they won the first 3 races.
In the past there are 2 seasons when Ferrari and McLaren won each a race in the first two races(1999, 2007). In those seasons Ferrari won the 3rd race.
In 5 seasons Ferrari won the 1st and/or 2nd race, and in all they won the 3rd race. The only exception is 2001 when after they won the first 2 races McLaren got the 3rd.
The 3rd race was won in the last 10 years by :
- 6 Ferrari
- 2 Reanult
- 1 McLaren and Jordan
If we check this statistics Ferrari have chandes to won the 3rd race of this season, but …….. this are just statistics.

1 ) A race won by Kimi Raikkonen and he won again on the track where in 2003 he get the fist victory in Formula1
2 ) Robert Kubica the driver on the position 2 in this race get the highest position in F1. Until this the best place for Kubica was 3 in 2006 at Monza while drive for Sauber.
3 ) Heikki Kovalainen is the 2nd time on the podium, last time he was in 2007 at Fuji driving for Renault. There he finish the race on 2nd place.
4 ) For Jarno Trulli (like for other drivers) this was the race number 10 at Sepang and in this race he set his 2nd best finish on this track. In 2005 he finish the Sepang race on 2nd place.
5 ) Lewis Hamilton on his 2nd season in F1 and 2nd race at Sepang, succeed to get just half of the points he get last year on this track. I think at this race he was penalized for the first time.
6 ) Nick Heildfeld set for the first time in his career the fastest lap in a F1 race.
7 ) Mark Webber in 7 races driving on Sepang in formula1 this is the first time when he get points.
8 ) Fernando Alonso finish in points in his career in 73 races. This was the 2nd time he got just 1 point, the last one was in 2003 Monza
This was race number 10 for Sebastian Vettel
For Felipe Massa this was the 90th race and the 10th pole position.
